How to prepare sodium alginate printing paste and printing and dyeing grade sodium alginate in winter

Sodium alginate printing paste can be perfectly applied to rotary screen printing, which has many colors, rich colors, full layers and lively patterns, and can obtain excellent printing effect when printing large patterns. However, when the temperature drops in winter, the precise preparation of sodium alginate printing paste is different from other seasons. Let's take a look at three key points of sodium alginate printing paste preparation in winter:

  1. First of all, the choice of water temperature should be between 30-40 degrees, but not lower than 30 degrees. Too low temperature is not conducive to the full dissolution of sodium alginate, which will prolong the pulping time and make sodium alginate agglomerate when stirring; Too high will cause sodium alginate to break, change its chemical properties, and cause unsatisfactory printing effect.

  2. Secondly, the sizing water is suitable for pure water or tap water with low hardness, because the water quality of tap water varies from place to place. If the water hardness is too high, it will react with sodium alginate and dyes, which will easily cause printing color difference. Therefore, printing and dyeing enterprises with conditions permit should choose to filter warm water for pulping.

  3. Finally, the proper viscosity of sodium alginate should be selected, and the paste-forming rate of sodium alginate with different viscosity specifications is different. Usually, the concentration of raw paste depends on its paste forming rate. High viscosity can be prepared at 3% ~ 4%, medium viscosity at 5% ~ 6%, and low viscosity at 8% ~ 10%.
