　　Sizing is the preparation process of color paste before printing, which is to blend dyes and their corresponding auxiliaries and sizing agents together, so that dyes can be transferred to fibers smoothly and clear patterns can be printed on fiber materials. Paste is an important part of color paste. Due to the different structure and performance, the sizing methods of various pastes are different. 　　The sizing of sodium alginate generally follows the following steps:

　　1. Preparation of sodium alginate original paste

　　The paste-forming rate of sodium alginate with different viscosity specifications is different, and the concentration of the original paste depends on its paste-forming rate. For example, the high viscosity sodium alginate can be prepared at the concentration of 3% ~ 4%, the medium viscosity sodium alginate can be prepared at the concentration of 5% ~ 6%, and the low viscosity sodium alginate can be prepared at the concentration of 8% ~ 10%. Generally, high-speed shear agitator is used in pulping equipment, so that water can generate vortex, so that sodium alginate can be quickly dispersed in water. The agitator should be placed in an off-center position, in order to generate a large turbulence at the bottom of the vortex; The blades of the agitator must be submerged under the liquid surface to prevent too much air from entering and splashing liquid. Powdered sodium alginate should be slowly sprinkled on the upper part of the vortex, so that each particle can be wetted. Before the solution gradually thickens and the vortex is destroyed, sodium alginate must be added completely. Continue to stir until the fully dissolved original paste is obtained, and stand for defoaming. It should be noted that the water temperature should not be too high when beating, but room temperature is enough.

　　Second, the preparation of printing paste

　　According to the process requirements, prepare to weigh all kinds of dyes first, and then dissolve them with a small amount of water. Take a certain amount of sodium alginate original paste, add the dissolved dye into it, stir evenly, and adjust the viscosity of color paste with appropriate amount of water to meet the technological requirements. In the actual sizing, it is also possible to make a thick color paste to become the basic color, and directly use the basic color when printing dark color patterns. When printing light-colored patterns, the basic color can be diluted with blank color paste without dye.
