In April 2017, Guandao International Algae Expo will be opened soon.

　　Algae Expo is an international exposition with the theme of algae, aiming at promoting the high added value of algae industry and its use as an alternative resource in the future. This year's Algae Expo lasts for 24 d ays, and it will be held again after the first Algae Expo in 2014, three years later. At that time, more than 1, 000 related persons from more than 150 enterprises at home and abroad, such as China, Japan, the United States, Canada and Australia, will visit Wandao.

　　It is worth noting that the pavilion of this exhibition is located in Qianhai, Wandao, which is the first time in Korea. The curator of the marine exhibition is 70 meters and 20 meters wide. It is located on three barges and consists of more than 40 containers. It is divided into three major pavilions: the Marine Mystery Pavilion, the Healthy Humanity Pavilion and the Future Resources Pavilion. The Earth Environment Pavilion, the Experience Pavilion and the Algae Knowledge Pavilion are located on land.

　　The organizers also planned fashion shows, cooking classrooms and other activities to add highlights to the exhibition. Visitors can also go deep into the seabed to experience the seaweed fores t through virtual reality (VR) equipment. During the event, an international symposium on algae will be held, at which time more than 350 related people, including experts and scholars at home and abroad in the field of algae research and relevant industry leaders, will attend the conference. Participants will discuss and exchange new technologies and research results in the world, such as green compound aquaculture technology of algae and sustainable coastal ecosystem management.

　　The organizer has set a goal of receiving 600,000 tourists, including 30, 000 foreign tourists. It is estimated that the resulting consumption will be about 49.7 billion won (about 300 million yuan). At present, preparations for transportation, accommodation and medical countermeasures have been completed, and 550,000 admission tickets have been sold out. The remaining 50,000 admission tickets will be sold on the spot. The organizer signed cooperation agreements with more than 10 overseas institutions such as china touri sm association and 101 domestic institutions such as Gwangju Municipal Government and Korea University, and opened social accounts in Chinese and Japanese, and also set up special accounts on Sina Weibo for promotion.
